Psalm 30

I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my foes rejoice over. O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me. O Lord, you have brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me aive that I should not go down to the pit. Sing praises to the Lord, you saints of Hise, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Now in my prosperity I said, "I shall never be moved." Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face and I was troubled. I cried out to You, O Lord; and to the Lord I made supplication: "What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me: Lord, be my helper!" You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, to the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Mother's Day.

You know, there's a time set aside for lots of things in life. Someone obviously loved their mother enough to set aside a special day once a year to honor their mother. Which reminds me of the verse in Ecclesiastes which reads, To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to love. - Ecclesiastes 3:1,8

Our mother's no doubt set aside more time for us than we'll ever begin to realize. Is it to much to ask that we return the favor and set aside time for them?

Happy Mother's Day!

The rain has stopped for now.

And the sun's finally shining! Thanks be to God, we've had no rain today! Rain is nice, yes, but after a while, one does long to see a bit of sunshine. I feel sorry for the families who've lost their homes and even their loved ones in the storms that raged across the States. I pray that these storms stop and that we can start helping them rebuild their homes and help them in anyway we can.

Rain.

I do not claim to own any rights to this poem nor will I even try!

The rain is raining all around
It falls on field and tree
On the umbrellas here
And on the ships at sea

Psalm 47

Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is great King over all the earth.

Psalm 124

If it had not been for the Lord who was on our side, let Israel now say- "If it had not been for the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled against us; then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul; then the swollen waters would have gone over our soul."
Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
