New Year's Eve.
Well folks, here we are, at the end of an old year and at the brink of a brand new one. Some of us might be busy primping our hair or getting the champagne out of the cellar. We're eagerly awaiting a fresh start in the upcoming New Year. I'm just curious:,why do we have to wait until the New Year before "making a fresh start"? Why can't we just do it "in the old year"? As it was said in the Music Man, "If we keep stacking up tomorrow's, we'll find ourselves with a bunch of empty yesterdays." And don't forget the old saying, "Never put off 'till tomorrow what you can do today!" So let's make the most of the todays that we have! :)

Christmas All Year Through?
It's the day after Christmas and a lot of us are probably packing up our Christmas decorations and planning for our New Year resolutions. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I was wondering. When you packed up your decorations, did you pack up the Christmas spirit as well? I've heard people say that the decorations help "Bring Out The Christmas Spirit." But does that spirit often get packed away with the decorations? The spirit of giving, goodwill, and happiness that appears so often at Christmas time, can't that be seen all year through? I've often wondered why it's mostly at Christmas time that those three things appear. Why not at Easter or July 4th. Just something I was wondering.

Christmas Songs.
As Christmas continues to draw closer, people have begun to bring out their Christmas cds, dust them off, and let them play all through December. I have a question to ask as you let your favorite songs play. Have you really listened to the words? Oh, I don't just mean listen and sing along. I mean have you really listened and thought about what the words mean?
Like in the song, "Mary Did You Know?' did Mary really pause and think about the Child she was holding in her arms? Did she see Him for Who He was, the Son of God, or did she see Him as just as any other infant that needed to be tended to and looked after?
Or in the song 'The Little Drummer Boy,' where the author wrote the line about baby Jesus smiling at the drummer boy. Put yourself in the drummer boy's place. Jesus, King of Kings, smiling at you! How would you react to that?
The others songs that talk about angels visiting the shepards in the fields. God didn't send the angels to the rich people. The angels were sent to people like you and me. Ordinary people. What inspired these song writers to write about the things they did? Would you have written the songs the same way? Or would you have written them differently? And if so, what would you have done that was different?

It's that time of the year.
Well, here it is, December 1st, 2010 already and Christmas shopping has already begun. I now that a lot of people are probably coming to your door this time of the year, asking for donations to certain causes and some of you might be fed up with it already. Well, I was wondering if you would like to give a donation and receive something in return?
Gifts of Hope, a non profit organization, is raising money for Special Operation Warriors Foundation. Special Ops helps to take care of families who's fathers have died while serving this nation. Some of the families might need money for groceries or for school books. Gifts of Hope would like to help these families have a Merry Christmas. Yes, we are asking for a donation, however, there is a catch. We, Gifts of Hope, have hand made Christmas knick-knacks for sale! Ranging from hand made ornaments that sparkle on your tree to napkin rings to brighten up your holiday tableware!
Please, check out the link to the video below. Everything you see in the slideshow is made by hand and with the utmost care. If you see something you like, please email me and I'll send it to you as soon as possible. And please don't think that I'm doing this just to make money. This is for the children who's fathers have died so that I might have the freedom to celebrate Christmas this year and I'd like to thank the families in anyway I can. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Update.
I'm sorry that I've been neglecting this blog! Still trying to get used to having one as I said earlier on.
How has everyone been doing of late? How are those stories coming along?

Nano question.
Here's the question of the day. What, or who, helped to inspire you to create your NaNo main character? Was it someone said or did? Or how about creating the novel itself? Do you make it up as you go along or do you have everything already planned out?

Only six days away, duckies!
Well, duckies, NaNoWriMo is upon us! Only six whole days away! Are you all a-rarin' and ready for it? Part of me says yes while the other part isn't so sure.

Post of the day.
Count down until NaNoWriMo begins now! Alls I can say is that I'm impatient for it to begin! I've started mentally working on the layout of my story and am writing it as a Christmas present for someone.
This year, it might be even harder to stuff my inner editor into the closet. Cookies helped keep her quiet last year, but I need something different this year. Any suggestions? Does anyone know what to give an inner editor in order to keep them quiet?
