Goals, no matter how big or small, are set every day. Whether it's editing a chapter a day or writing fifteen hundred words in three days. These things require patience, dedication and courage to see it through to the end. When you've reached your goal, don't let your feeling of satisfaction end with a mere pat on the back. Treat yourself. It may be a walk in the park, eating that snack you kept hidden away for just such an occasion or maybe even going out and buying something you had your eye on. Don't wait until your book is out before celebrating. Celebrate the goals you've accomplished on the way.
For me 'celebrating' is picking up a book I'd put off until an opportune time. How about you? How do you like to reward yourself when you've achieved your goal(s)?
